Pro Tip: What NOT to Bring on a Tour of Israel
Now that you have all your essentials lined up, let’s talk about items that you should probably leave at home (or throw away).
When you go on a tour of Israel, you might be tempted to bring everything and anything, “just in case”. Allow us to help you save some money (and strength!) by setting a few things aside.
- Expensive jewelry and accessories
- Stilettos (one word: cobblestone…)
- Too many gadgets (beware of pickpockets at touristy spots)
- Electric appliances with the wrong plug (yes, your American straightener will fry if you plug it in here)
- Too much cash (you may need change for the Old City and some touristy spots, but restaurants and most shops accept credit cards or even paying with your phone)
- Heavy books (opt for an e-reader, but you might not even have time for that)
- Uncomfortable clothes that you hope to wear one day

It is quite exciting to think that while touring Israel you are walking on the same land that Jesus did.
Whether it is the reason why you came to Israel or not, it is worth noting which locations were significant to His life and ministry. God chose this piece of land to send His Son to live on earth. Many archeological findings confirm the locations mentioned in the Bible.
