Starting a new year does not mean starting a new life. But it can definitely be a great moment to pick up a new habit – like praying for Israel.
It feels very freeing to take a step forward into a new chapter. And we have a very inspiring suggestion for you what that step could be:
Pray for Israel and for God’s Word to come alive before your eyes!
The last few months have not been easy for the people of Israel. With your help, FIRM has been able to bring humanitarian aid and provide assistance wherever needed. Thank you for reading, watching, donating and sharing! We are so proud of the Body of Messiah worldwide and are so thankful for your generosity.
We want to start this year with blessing Israel together – this time through fervent prayer! Dedicate a week this month to pray specifically for the land of Israel and her people!

Sunday, January 14
Read: Isaiah 60:1-22.
Reflect: Israel was never forgotten or rejected. Through the prophet Isaiah, God reminds His people that His glory will shine upon them and nations will come to their light.
Pray: Ask the Lord to fulfill the beautiful promises written down in this chapter, because He wants to be the light of His people!
Monday, January 15
Read: Jeremiah 29:11-14, Jeremiah 31:31-38.
Reflect: God has plans to prosper Israel. He is bringing His people back to the Land of Israel, and He wants to be in a covenant relationship with them.
Pray: As you read the words of the prophet Jeremiah, pray for their fulfillment in all God’s glory!
Tuesday, January 16
Read: Isaiah 54.
Reflect: No weapon formed against God’s people will prosper and He will have compassion on them. As Isaiah wrote, the Holy One of Israel is her husband.
Pray: Declare this powerful chapter over the people of Israel, especially at this time!
Wednesday, January 17
Read: Ezekiel 36.
Reflect: The prophet calls on Israel to listen to the Lord, because He is for them. And His grace is immeasurable not for their sake, but for His Holy name’s sake.
Pray: Repeat after Ezekiel the wondrous things that God wants to do as you pray for Israel!
Thursday, January 18
Read: Amos 9:11-15, Romans 11:11-18.
Reflect: God promised to restore David’s fallen tent and His people. We are grafted into their promises and God is faithful to bring them back.
Pray: Pray for the full restoration of the land and the people of Israel, and above all, their salvation.
Friday, January 19
Read: Isaiah 43:1-21.
Reflect: The Almighty God is Israel’s Savior and Redeemer. He knows them by name, forgives their sins and makes a way for them through the wilderness.
Pray: This beautiful song in Isaiah repeats the words over Israel: Do not fear! Your God is for you! Declare it over God’s people.
Saturday, January 20
On the Lord’s Shabbat, remember His promises, His faithfulness and His goodness. God created the Sabbath to dwell with His people. Enjoy this day in His presence and delight in the fact that salvation came from Zion.
This Shabbat, pray with and find joy in the words of the prophet Isaiah:
For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet,
until her righteousness goes forth as brightness,
and her salvation as a burning torch.
The nations shall see your righteousness,
and all the kings your glory,
and you shall be called by a new name
that the mouth of the Lord will give.
You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,
and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
You shall no more be termed Forsaken,
and your land shall no more be termed Desolate,
but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her,
and your land Married;
for the Lord delights in you…
On your walls, O Jerusalem,
I have set watchmen;
all the day and all the night
they shall never be silent.
You who put the Lord in remembrance,
take no rest,
and give him no rest
until he establishes Jerusalem
and makes it a praise in the earth.
Continue to Pray for Israel
Although we do not expect the world to magically change with the arrival of a new year, we want to start it well on our part. Most of all, we want to declare that God is always good. And He is on the throne. What He promised in His Word, He will fulfill! So, may it be our joy and honor to pray according to His Word.
