Defining Antisemitism

Antisemitism is a hostility, prejudice, or discrimination against Jews simply because they are Jewish. Like a stubborn weed, this ancient hatred has persisted through centuries. It shows up in various ways across many cultures and eras but is always rooted in deep-seated prejudice and unfounded hate.

Being Antisemitic versus Loving the Jewish People

At FIRM, we believe in the transformative power of the Holy Spirit through education, empathy, and collaboration. Together, let’s build a future free of antisemitism, and communities stand united in mutual respect, understanding, and solidarity–loving Israel and the Jewish people.

1 John 4:19 says, “We love because He first loved us,” and we know what God says about the Jewish people: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you” (Jeremiah 31:3b). So there is no room for antisemitic hate in the love God has for us, nor in the love that we then show. To love God is to love what He loves. And He loves the Jewish people.
