Building the One New Man in Haifa

Most Jewish people that come to faith in Jesus are rejected and left without the support of a community and need a place to grow and fellowship with other believers.

Kehilat HaCarmel welcomes the nations to their Shabbat services in their building on top of Mount Carmel as a fulfillment of their vision for the One New Man. In addition to their weekly congregational activities, they have a distribution center and shelter for African refugees, a women’s shelter, and thriving outreach and street ministries. Ultimately, the community at Kehilat HaCarmel is committed to turning back to the simplicity of the gospel as seen in their commitment to share the truth and love of Jesus with Israel and the nations.

About

Kehilat HaCarmel

Kehilat HaCarmel is a community of Messianic believers in Haifa with the vision to reach Jews and Arabs in Israel and demonstrate the reconciliation and unity that Jesus has already accomplished for us. Their location on Mount Carmel houses HaCarmel Worship Center, Or HaCarmel Ministry Center, the headquarters for Mount Carmel School of Ministry, a women’s shelter, and a hospitality café for visitors. Beit Yedidah Conference Center, located in central Haifa, serves as a mid-week meeting location, home to Kehilat Kerem El (Kehilat HaCarmel’s daughter congregation), and as a retreat location for other Messianic and Arab congregations.

About the Leadership

Daniel Sayag
Pastor

Daniel ‘Dani’ Sayag was born in Haifa to Jewish parents who made aliya from Iraq and Algeria in the early 1950s. While serving in the Israeli army, he met believers who invited him to a Messianic Jewish youth meeting. He eventually accepted Yeshua as his Messiah while still on the army base. Dani has served as a pastor at Kehilat HaCarmel since 2000, and as lead pastor since 2016. In 2009, he founded the Kehilat Kerem El in Mercaz Carmel, Haifa. Dani and his wife LuAnne live in Haifa. They have three daughters and two grandchildren.

Peter Tsukahira
Co-Founder

Peter Tsukahira, Co-Founder of Kehilat HaCarmel and its related ministries, made aliyah with his family to Israel in 1987. Soon after the Gulf War ended in 1991, the congregation officially began and has continued all these years as a testimony to God’s faithfulness.

Peter’s life was radically transformed by the Lord in the early 1970’s. He is a graduate of Tufts University, Christ for the Nations Institute and also holds a Master of Divinity degree. In 2000, Peter established the Mount Carmel School of Ministry (www.mountcarmelsom.com) which has impacted many from the nations with an understanding of God’s heart and strategic purposes for Israel and God’s kingdom. He is the author of Equip – Your Personal Journey to the Kingdom, God’s Tsunami – Understanding Israel and End-time Prophecy and other books.
